Lunch & Snack

    • Containers that students can manage independently
    • A water bottle that students can manage independently
    • Packaging of food items that students can manage independently
    • Clearly mark what is for snack and what is for lunch.
    • Please send in needed utensils each day (fork, spoon, etc).
    • Drinks that students can manage independently, including juice pouches, water bottles, etc.

    • Shoes – students need to be able to manage their shoes independently. If unable to tie shoes, please dress your child in velcro or slip-on shoes that fit securely. Open-toe shoes, sandals, and flip-flops are not permitted.
    • All clothing, including outerwear, should have fasteners that the student can manage independently. Please keep bathroom use in mind.
    • Each student should have an extra set of clothing appropriate for the season as they will be playing outside and clothes can get muddy.

    • Students need to be able to pack and unpack it independently.  This includes putting a lunchbox, binder, and water bottle inside and zipping.  If your child struggles with this, please have them practice at home.  Although this may initially seem time-consuming, their skills will improve with practice and it will help increase their independence and self-confidence.

    • Lower School students will be issued Chromebooks. Students should have a keychain (or something similar) that they have chosen that easily distinguishes and identifies their Chromebook case as their own.

The difference is clear

Our son learned the valuable skills of teamwork, patience and perseverance during his time at Centreville Layton as well as the academic strategies to move forward into a typical high school setting. Centreville Layton strikes a great balance of family-like warmth and discipline in a beautiful country setting.

Former Parent

This past year has been completely transformational for our daughter and her positive strides have been noticeable both at home and at school. She is growing into the best version of herself and her teachers at CLS have played a significant role in her progress.

Michelle L.
Middle School parent

This year, I’ve learned to understand that acceptance is greatly appreciated but difficult to find. Compared to where I came from, CLS houses some of the most accepting people that I’ve ever met. I am thankful for every little act of kindness shown towards me or even towards another student. They have not gone unnoticed.

We’re prepared for this because we’ve learned how to work hard, solve problems, be independent, happy, responsible and kind to all.

The support from my teachers taught me not just reading and writing, but to embrace who I am, to learn from my mistakes and grow because of them.
