Centreville Layton believes students should not only be able to use technology as a classroom tool, but also as a means of creativity, and exploration.
Technology
Lower School
Students in the Lower School are equipped with a school-supplied and maintained Chromebook. Students are explicitly taught technology skills during their scheduled STEM class and put their skills to use during their academic class time. The skills introduced to our younger students include Chromebook navigation, the use of Google Chrome, Google Drive (Docs, Slides, Sheets, Forms), gmail maintenance; typing, sending emails, and collaborating with others, just to name a few.

Middle School
Students in the Middle School are equipped with a school-supplied and maintained Chromebook. Students practice technology skills in a cross-curriculum manner, utilizing their Chromebook and tech tools for homework management, research, project execution, and to complete assignments during their core and extracurricular subjects. Students access and submit assignments through Google Classroom. Students are expected to utilize the Chromebook to communicate with their teachers and collaborate with other students to complete assignments and projects.
Middle School Technology Electives also include 3D Print and Design, Programming/Coding, and Exploration with Technology.
Upper School
Students in the Upper School are also equipped with a school-supplied and maintained Chromebook.
