The program identifies academic and social needs of the individual and provides a curriculum that focuses on problem solving and critical thinking. Through intervention and strengthening learning strategies, the school empowers each student to reach his or her potential.
Thank you for your interest in Centreville Layton School’s Association of School and Parents (CLASP). Due to the restrictions the school has put in place to keep our staff, students, and families healthy during the pandemic certain events and gatherings have unfortunately been limited during the past two school years. As things slowly improve, we are hoping to bring back CLASP in full force! As we work our way to doing just that, we’d like to start with a few small things such as staff appreciation gestures, having volunteers at upcoming events, and ultimately a school wide CLASP event in the spring (hopefully).
If you would like to be involved in our Parent Association, please fill out the form below. Once completed, more information about CLASP will follow!
Thanks again!
The mission of CLASP is to help build and sustain community among the parents, families, students, faculty, administrators, staff, and supporters of The Centreville Layton School (“CLS”). CLASP assists parents in developing an effective partnership with CLS to achieve the best possible educational experience for the students. CLASP recognizes that the entire CLS community is enriched by the variety of talents, resources, and backgrounds that each parent brings to the school.
Membership in CLASP is open to all parents and legal guardians who have a child or children attending CLS, and members of the CLS faculty, administration and staff. Parents and legal guardians who have a child or children attending CLS are entitled to vote on all matters submitted to a vote of the Members and are considered “Voting Members.” Voting Members are entitled to cast one vote per each child attending CLS.

Our son learned the valuable skills of teamwork, patience and perseverance during his time at Centreville Layton as well as the academic strategies to move forward into a typical high school setting. Centreville Layton strikes a great balance of family-like warmth and discipline in a beautiful country setting.
This past year has been completely transformational for our daughter and her positive strides have been noticeable both at home and at school. She is growing into the best version of herself and her teachers at CLS have played a significant role in her progress.
This year, I’ve learned to understand that acceptance is greatly appreciated but difficult to find. Compared to where I came from, CLS houses some of the most accepting people that I’ve ever met. I am thankful for every little act of kindness shown towards me or even towards another student. They have not gone unnoticed.
We’re prepared for this because we’ve learned how to work hard, solve problems, be independent, happy, responsible and kind to all.
The support from my teachers taught me not just reading and writing, but to embrace who I am, to learn from my mistakes and grow because of them.
