Science courses are intended to be an excellent preparation for college-level science, and are well-matched with the National Science Education Standards. Inquiry is central to science learning at Centreville Layton School. When engaging in inquiry, students describe objects and events, ask questions, construct explanations, test those explanations against current scientific knowledge, and communicate their ideas to others. In addition, classroom methods stress the development and application of study skills that involve the organization of 1) time, 2) materials, and 3) information and ideas.
